Most improved Brisbane North NAPLAN schools revealed in last 5 years

The biggest improvers for NAPLAN results in Brisbane’s north have been revealed. An analysis of five years of data has uncovered the schools with the biggest increases in their test scores — and those who fell behind.

The biggest NAPLAN improvers for schools in the Brisbane North region have been revealed, along with the schools which have gone backwards.

Brisbane Independent School in Pullenvale recorded the biggest improvement for a primary school with the average Year 5 NAPLAN results increasing by 6.53 per cent over the past five years of testing.

Our Lady Help of Christians School at Hendra was the second best with an increase of 5.77 per cent, followed by Stafford State School with an increase of 5.67 per cent.

Everton Park State High School recorded the biggest improvement for a secondary school with average year 9 NAPLAN results increasing by 7.58 per cent over the past five years.

St James College in Fortitude Valley was the second best with a 4.84 per cent increase, followed by Ambrose Treacy College at Indooroopilly with an increase of 3.94 per cent.

The analysis compared the five year change in NAPLAN results from 2017 and 2021 and revealed the schools which have improved their Year 5 and Year 9 student scores the most.

It was calculated by each school‘s combined results for each NAPLAN subject in 2017 and compared to the same results in 2021.

Meanwhile, Upper Brookfield State School recorded the lowest improvement for a primary school with the average Year 5 NAPLAN results returning a result of -9.3 per cent over the past five years.

Clayfield College recorded the lowest improvement for a secondary school, returning a result of -5.74 per cent over the past five years.

Brisbane Independent School: 6.53 per cent

Our Lady Help of Christians School: 5.77 per cent

Stafford State School: 5.67 per cent

Boondall State School: 5.5 per cent

Earnshaw State College: 5.37 per cent

Everton Park State High School: 7.58 per cent

St James College: 4.84 per cent

Ambrose Treacy College: 3.94 per cent

Marist College Ashgrove: 3.46 per cent

Mitchelton State High School: 2.8 per cent
