Woman suffers serious injuries, man taken to hospital after car hits traffic controller in Palm Beach

Police are investigating a serious crash which left a woman who was working as a traffic controller in hospital with ‘multi-system traumas’. Full details.

Police are investigating a serious crash which left a woman who was working as a traffic controller in hospital with ‘multi-system traumas’.

Emergency services were called to the a construction site on the Gold Coast Highway near Twenty First Ave in Palm Beach at 2.42pm after a car crashed into a 39-year-old woman.

Paramedics assessed the woman and the 46-year-old man who was driving the car.

It was understood the impact from the crash left the car windshield shattered.

Queensland Ambulance took the woman to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

“The patient has suffered significant multi-system traumas,” a QAS spokesperson said.

The driver of the car was taken to Robina Hospital in a stable condition.

Police said the 46-year-old was assisting police with their investigations.

The Forensic Crash unit investigations are ongoing.
