A rogue bullet sitting on a car seat led police to discover a stash of guns, a knife and ammunition in a northern Gold Coast suburb.
A 44-year-old man was charged with a long list of weapons and traffic offences after he was found with the items in his car at Helensvale on Sunday night.
Police stopped the man, who was driving an unregistered green Holden Commodore, outside a tavern at Sir John Overall Drive about 11.30pm.
While speaking to the man, police spotted a bullet on the passenger seat.
A subsequent search located two firearms, a knife and more ammunition in the car.
The Helensvale man was charged with unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle, unlicenced driving, possession of a knife, possession of a utensil, failure to properly dispose of a syringe, authority to possess explosives (ammunition) and two counts of unlawfully possess a weapon.
He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on June 19.
