An American rock band known for their hit single Teenage Dirtbag have announced they are coming to the Gold Coast.
Wheatus’ frontman Brendan Brown and vocalist Gabrielle Sterbenz will perform at Vinnies Dive Bar during a 14-date run of acoustic shows across Australia next year.
The tour will be Brown’s second time in Australia within two years after playing the Pandemonium festival at the start of the year.
At the time Brown said: “It’s been more than a decade and we have such a history there, as ‘Straya was the first place Dirtbag was a hit.
“Also, the best sleep I ever had was in a hotel on a Gold Coast beach. Unforgettable.”
Wheatus will again have the chance to bunk on a Gold Coast beach after playing their unforgettable 2000s anthem Teenage Dirtbag, which re-entered the UK top 40 charts last year.
“Brendan and Gabrielle will soon be hitting those long open Australian roads together, dirt bagging it across the nation with an acoustic set that is perfect for these stripped-back, intimate shows across our great southern land,” a media statement said.
Wheatus will play Vinnies Dive Bar on January 22.
