A HIGH spirited Matt Curran has released a video revealing his horrific injuries on the GoFundMe account set up by his family to help fund his “long road to recovery”.
Mr Curran, 29, who was in an induced coma with severe burns to more than 15% of his body after he lost control of his motorcycle on Gooding Drive, Carrara last month, has shown his body in bandages and a lost limb in a video on his GoFundMe page.
The video was a part of updates provided to those who have donated over $35,000 to fund the Worongary man’s medical and rehabilitation costs.
In the video an upbeat Mr Curran jokes to the camera about losing his leg from the crash.
“Hey, I just want to thank everyone for their support, and there well wishes and stuff,” Mr Curran says to start the video.
“I’m doing alright, I’ve got a hand splint on … I’ve got no leg, I’ve lost it.”
The set target of $40,000 looks likely to be reached just over a month on from the GoFundMe page was launched by close contact to the family, Joshua Van Brederode, who writes:

“It’s going to be a long tough road for Matty when he wakes up. There are still multiple operations ahead of him with burns specialists, artery specialists, brain specialists and rehabilitation.
“Both arms and legs are broken in multiple places and almost lost his leg. There is swelling on his head and severe burns to over 15% of his body from where the petrol cap came off and the sparks ignited the whole bike which will cause severe scarring.”
