A local pizza outlet has rallied behind the family of a local woman who died after she was fatally struck by a car in an alleged hit-and-run incident just metres from the store last week.

Domino’s franchise owner Jeremy Winlaw said traders at the local Allamanda Drive Shopping Centre were devastated by the death of local woman Kiesha Thompson, just metres from their front doors.

Mr Winlaw said the tragedy had affected locals and businesses with many still in shock that it occurred on a local road.

Many have donated to an online GoFundMe campaign set up to help Ms Thompson’s family care for her young child.

Mr Winlaw said he would donate $1 for every pizza sold at the Daisy Hill outlet on Friday, July 26 to an online crowd-funding effort.

Although Ms Thompson was not a regular at the Daisy Hill Domino’s, Mr Winlaw said she shopped locally and her death had struck a chord with local traders.

“I have a number of stores in Logan at Waterford West and Underwood along with this one at Daisy Hill and felt the impact of this event on the local community,” he said.

“I wanted to do anything I could to make a difference to Keisha’s family following their tragedy.’’

She said Keisha would occasionally order pizza but was not a regular at the restaurant.

Ms Thompson, 23, was struck by a car while walking on a footpath on Allamanda Drive on Friday, July 19.

The young mum had just dropped her child off at daycare when she was hit.

Police alleged her ex-partner’s new girlfriend Larissa Rita Mae-Leigh Sant, 24, deliberately struck her with a four-wheel-drive.

Sant, 24, has faced court on one count of murder. Her partner, 27-year-old Acacia Ridge man Tyler Scott Williams James, has been charged with murder as a domestic violence offence.
