Gold Coast weather: Wet week ahead for the city

A cool change is on the way for the city this week, and you may need to pack an umbrella.

A COOL change is on the way with rain predicted on the Gold Coast for the rest of the week.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting showers to reach the Coast by late Tuesday afternoon.

It is likely to remain until at least Sunday.

It has been almost three weeks since the city received a downpour.

Temperatures are also expected to be a little cooler than the city has experienced so far during the balmy winter.

While last week the temperature peaked at 26C in Coomera, the top temperatures this week will hover around 23C.

On Wednesday it is forecast to reach just 19C at Coolangatta

This morning the temperature dipped to 13.2C at the Gold Coast Seaway, 9.5C at Coolangatta and 4.8C in the hinterland.
