Gold Coast seaway rescue after boat capsizes leaving two in the water

Two boaties clung to the hull of their vessel after it capsized in the Gold Coast seaway on Wednesday afternoon.

Two boaties clung to the hull of their vessel after it capsized in the Gold Coast seaway on Wednesday afternoon.

The pair were spotted clinging to the 6m boat after the black hull vessel capsized about 1.20pm, about 200m from the southern wall of the seaway.

Multiple boats went to help the pair who were safely recovered.

It is understood a passing boat saved them.

Water police also responded to the calls for help.

Work is underway to remove the boat.
