THE Gold Coast’s most prestigious schools have published booming OP scores overnight with one school alone netting 10 OP1 recipients.
Somerset College, St Andrews Lutheran College, Trinity Lutheran College and St Hilda’s School have all revealed results well above the state average.
The OP scores (Overall Positions) released over the weekend are used as a statewide rank for eligible year 12 graduates to assist with tertiary entrances.
Somerset College has published the highest number of OP1 students on the Gold Coast to date, with 10 year 12 students earning the score.
The school this year had the highest performing NAPLAN results on the Gold Coast for both primary and high school.
COAST STUDENTS CELEBRATE RECEIVING OP RESULTS
Dean of admissions John Bacon said all senior students should be proud of their achievements.
“With those results many of our students will have fantastic opportunities ahead of them,” Mr Bacon said.
Of the Somerset College students eligible, 23 per cent received an OP between 1-3 and 76 per cent from 1-10.
A number of other private schools on the Gold Coast published positive OP results overnight.
Of the OP eligible students at St Andrews Lutheran College at Tallebudgera, 53.4 per cent received a single-digit OP score.

Principal David Bliss said he was proud of the achievements of all of the students.
“Of course, we are proud of all of our students, not just those top academics who are bound for profession through tertiary education, but equally those who have already embarked on trades, are continuing with school-initiated service activities, or those still considering a myriad of pathways,” he said.
“These are young people well positioned to leave a positive mark in the broader community.”
At Trinity Lutheran College about a quarter of graduates received an OP score better than five.
Two students at St Hilda’s School at Southport received OP1s and 12 students achieved scored between OP1-3.
In the cohort of just 78 OP eligible students, 100 per cent achieved a score in the range of 1-15 at St Hilda’s.
More than 73 per cent also secured an OP 1- 10.
“We also congratulate the 56 senior girls who have graduated with a total of 73 VET Qualifications including 10 traineeships, 32 Diplomas in Business and 31 Certificate II and III courses in a range of areas,” principal Dr Julie Wilson Reynolds said.
