IT WAS a few unlucky breaks … literally, that inspired Assisi College graduate student Jackson Armstrong to pursue a future in medical imaging.

Now after years of hard work, and an OP 1 under his belt, he is free to follow his dreams that were sparked by one too many trips to the emergency ward.

“I had been working towards getting into a medical imaging degree for a while,” the 17-year-old Jackson told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

“I have been to the hospital quite a few times because of injuries — just little things like a broken arm, a ruptured spleen or a dislocated finger, it looked like an interesting career so I thought I would work towards that and see what I was offered.

Jackson is one of three Assisi College students to have received the highest academic ranking, one of the best results yet for the Upper Coomera school.

Despite the achievement Jackson said he won’t be resting on his laurels anytime soon.

“They say OP’s don’t count once you get into uni, so yeah the study isn’t over,” he said.

Jackson was one of thousands celebrating after OP results were revealed on Saturday morning.
