Upper Coomera school Assisi Catholic College had a record three OP1 recipients, tripling its previous results.
Principal Michael Laidler said it was an amazing achievement for a relatively new senior school.
“We are incredibly proud of all of our students and their hard work they put into the year. We hope to build on it,” he said.
Livingstone Christian College at Ormeau also achieved its “best ever” academic performance, with 28.1 per cent of eligible OP students achieving an OP 1-5 — from a result of 3.2 per cent two years ago.
Of those eligible, 87.5 per cent of students achieved an OP result between 1 and 15.
At The Southport School, 27 per cent of eligible Year 12 students received an OP 1-5. They included four OP1s, nine OP2s and five OP3s.
Of the whole senior school, 98 per cent of eligible students achieved an OP result between 1-15.
All Saints Anglican School had 40.35 per cent of eligible students achieve OP scores in the 1-5 range.
More than 97 per cent of the school’s eligible senior students received an OP in the 1-15 range.
Principal Patrick Wallas said students had worked hard for the great result.
“It’s important to remember that an OP score is just a means to an end but I have watched the class of 2018 work so hard for many years, while engaging wholeheartedly in the co-curricular programs of the school, and I am so pleased that they received the results they deserved,” he said.
“Far more important to me is the simple truth that together they have been one of the kindest, most decent, most engaged and compassionate year groups one could imagine. They are ready to make a difference in the world and they will not disappoint.”

Of the 57 eligible students at Tamborine Mountain State High School, 32.8 per cent achieved an OP between 1 and 5 and more than 75 per cent between 1 and 10.
All of the eligible Tamborine Mountain State High students scored OPs in the range of 1-15.
Southport State High School celebrated three OP1 students, with 40 per cent of eligible students achieving an OP between 1-5.
Director of Southport’s Senior School, Rachel Cutajar attributed the highest number of OP1s in the school’s history to a talented and hard-working cohort.
“The senior schooling team focused on targeted grouping of students with expert teachers to build on deficit understandings while staff received professional development specific to their subjects to improve the QCS mean,” Ms Cutajar said.
“Additionally, we took a ‘team against the test’ approach where all students, teachers and executive built a culture of working hard to gain academic results as a team, rather than an individual,” she said.
Keebra Park State High School celebrated two OP1 students, both of whom were the 2018 joint dux winners.
