A Gold Coast hotel is celebrating individuality this Valentine’s Day with an unconventional twist on the nation’s most romantic celebration.

QT in Surfers Paradise has appealed to its more open-minded clientele this February 14 with a special package aimed at throuples.

The hotel chain will welcome groups of three – including polyamorous relationships or simply three best friends – across its Australian hotels.

On Valentine’s Day, every dinner booking for three people across QT’s restaurants and bars will include aphrodisiac hour – a half-dozen oysters, plus three mini martinis on the house.

Tables of three can also vie for the title of ‘Throuple in Residence’.

One trio dining at each of QT’s signature restaurants will be invited for an overnight sleepover in a room upstairs with piles of pillows, robes and amorous amenities supplied.

QT Hotels and Resorts brand director Danelle Ayers said the throuples package was all about “spreading the love”.

“You, Plus Two’ is designed to celebrate the love of a trio,” Ms Ayers said.

“From perfectly platonic to downright romantic, from throuples to three best friends – it’s all about sharing time with those important to you.

“At QT we celebrate individuality. Our guests know to expect the unexpected, and Valentine’s Day isn’t any different.”

Traditional couples have not been forgotten either.

“We’re also welcoming duos with offers throughout our hotels,” Ms Ayers added.

“However, we’re sprinkling extra rose petals on love that comes in three.”
