PLANS have been unveiled for a new bar and restaurant in one of the Gold Coast’s tallest towers.
Developer Dia Investments has filed plans for a bar on the ground floor of the Merriton Sundale tower in Southport, just a short walk from the light rail.
NEW BOUTIQUE BAR PLANNED FOR PALM BEACH
The bar would front Como Crescent and would take over an existing empty tenancy which was once home to the tower’s sales office.
The applicant has asked council to allow the bar to operate from 10am-12am seven days a week and has argued that the proposal would “support the 24 hours per day, seven days a week nature of the CBD”.

It is the second new bar to be proposed along the light rail route in a week.
An application was last week made to the Gold Coast City Council for a large bar and restaurant in Nobby Beach on the site of a popular surfwear shop.
It will be a short distance from the route of the proposed light rail stage 3A.
