In a suburb now famous for its hip and popular bars, the Plantation Bar will have seating for just 60 people across its 102 sqm floorplan, with two outdoor decks planned, at the front and back of the existing Gold Coast Highway shopfront.
The bar will feature ‘low-key’ entertainment such as soloists, duet guitarists and piano but no large bands.

The applications hope to operate between 10am and 2am seven days a week.
It is planned for the ground level of a two-door building on the Highway between Sixth and Palm Beach Avenues and will neighbour a boutique children’s clothing shop and dentist surgery.
The proposed bar will sit just metres away from the expected future route of the Gold Coast light rail project.
City leaders today pledged the extension of the light rail would not change the suburb’s character, despite fears of overdevelopment.
