ALFRESCO dining, boutique restaurants and independent shops will be at the heart of a multi-million retro revamp of the Nobby Beach precinct.
Fruiterer George Manettas and developer Daniel Veitch on Monday unveiled complementary developments that will reflect the arched architecture of former Gold Coast landmarks such as the Pink Poodle Motel, the Southport Bathing Pavilion, and the still-standing Santa Nita building in Southport.

The newly filed development application reveals a variety of boutique eateries will be build in The Frederick complex, earmarked for a site on the corner of Chairlift Ave and Gold Coast Highway.
Landscaped laneways will be created to house boutique shops, with a particular focus on a “flexible” design which allows for minimal shop fit-outs and “reinforces” the architecture character of the building.

“(We will) create a collection of lanes, courtyards and small intimate spaces defining the ground plane,” a planning report on the project said.
“(It will) create a united public realm with a series of smaller public spaces, with clearly legible entries to restaurants, shops and office lobbies.”
