A Gold Coast vegan beauty tycoon has not shown up for court after being accused of making false claims against Airbnb’s insurers.

Cassandra Felicity House, who has worked as a motivational speaker and allegedly made a fortune working for multi-level marketing skincare giant Arbonne, allegedly tried to make an insurance claim against Airbnb claiming items were stolen and damaged while a guest stayed in her Main Beach home two years ago.

Police will allege the insurance claim made did not match the value of goods stolen or damaged.

House was charged with one count of attempted fraud. She denies the allegations.

Defence lawyer Farshad Sarabi told the Southport Magistrates Court that House had told him on Wednesday morning that she was ill and was attending a doctor.

The matter was adjourned to March 9.

Police will prepare a brief of evidence.

House previously took civil action against the accommodation provider for $253,000 in damages after the items – including a silver banana — were allegedly stolen.

That matter is still before the Southport District Court.
