LATEST: How much rain has fallen on the Coast
SHOWERS are predicted to continue to lash the Coast today, along with cooler temperatures and strong winds.
The city has received more than 10mm of rain overnight but the weather bureau predicts intermittent showers will continue throughout today.
Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) forecaster Rosa Hoff said the rain would clear tomorrow.
“The bulk of rain will be today and not as much tomorrow,” she said.
“We are expecting temperatures to be a little bit cooler today.
“The cooler temperatures will be a bit more inland but with clouds blocking the sun today it will be a bit cooler for most parts of the region.”
A strong weather warning is in place for Gold Coast waterways today with more than 20 knot winds expected.
“If anyone is thinking of heading out on the water today, the warning is something to keep in mind,” Ms Hoff said.
“For those on the land it will be windy close to the coast and the south-easterlies will pick up, particularly during the late afternoon.”
Last night’s low was 22.5C, according to the bureau’s station at the northern end of The Spit.
Today it will be a top of 24C in Surfers Paradise, Coolangatta, Coomera, Nerang, and Robina.
