Body found in search for missing kayaker at Alberton in northern Gold Coast
Police searching for a kayaker missing after his craft capsized on the Logan River have found a body.

THE body of a man has been uncovered in the Logan River this morning, where the search for a missing kayaker had taken place over the weekend.
At around 5.30am today a fisherman discovered the body in the water.
The group called police who subsequently recovered it.
Police had previously launched a multi-agency sea and air search to locate a 26-year-old man who was onboard a two-person kayak that overturned, throwing both occupants into the water in the Logan river around 12.10pm last Saturday.
A 27-year-old Woodridge man was located at the time and taken ashore with no serious injuries and a search was commence for the 26-year-old man who failed to surface.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

A kayaker remains missing after his craft capsized on the Logan River in Alberton in the northern Gold Coast on Saturday August 22nd.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman last night confirmed a 26-year-old Eagleby man was yet to be found despite an extensive search by authorities.
Police said they were alerted to the incident after two men fell into the water while paddling on the river in a kayak about 12.10pm Saturday.
A 27-year-old Woodridge man swam to shore and was taken to Logan Hospital with no serious injuries.

Police launched a multi-agency rescue effort involving Water Police, the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter and Volunteer Marine Rescue.
The search will likely continue in the morning.
