A parent of the Merrimac school was sent a message from her daughter at about 3pm advising that she had “just got out of lockdown” but wasn’t aware of what had caused the incident.

It comes after schools in the Ormeau area were closed down earlier this week after an incident.

It is understood police attended the school after reports of a student causing a disturbance.
