A KIWI bouncer infamous for posting embarrassing nightclub CCTV of an English rugby star has issued a video threat to a Gold Coaster involved in a violent security guard attack.

Jonathan Dixon, in a YouTube video sanctioned by the global society Bouncers Around the World (BRAWL), threatens Coast tradie Blake James Edwards with a “really bad time”.

Mr Dixon warns him against entering any venues associated with BRAWL which claims a 2000-strong membership across 70 countries.

In the video, Mr Dixon — who has told the Bulletin BRAWL has members working at dozens of Gold Coast venues — points down the camera and says: “The global society of Bouncers Around the World is now telling you, Blake James Edwards, of Australia, that you are now officially ‘trespassed’ from all BRAWL venues, clubs, bars and pubs throughout Australia and 70 countries that make up the society.

“Everywhere we are, you cannot be.

“If you, Blake James Edwards, try to enter or are found within any of the society’s bars, clubs or pubs, it will be, for you, a really bad time.”

The video comes two weeks after Edwards walked from court ordered to do 150 hours of community service and pay $500 reparation for his part in an attack on Burleigh surf club security guard Ricky Wood.

Mr Wood was left with major head injuries, a tic in his left arm and facial injuries after a group attacked him on July 29, 2017.

Edwards, who had no recorded conviction after pleading guilty to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm, is the only person to have been charged despite CCTV footage of the bashing.

Mr Dixon, calling Mr Wood “a giant” of the industry, said his motivation for the video was BRAWL did not feel the sentence was appropriate: “We can’t wrap our heads around it.”

Mr Dixon rose to prominence during the 2011 Rugby World Cup in NZ when he uploaded CCTV to YouTube of then England rugby star Mike Tindall partying in a Queenstown resort bar with team members.

The English rugby team were based in the South Island resort town and the footage — aired soon after Tindall had married one of the royals, Zara Phillips — generated headlines globally.

Mr Dixon spliced into the Tindall footage video of himself admonishing Tindall and urging him to be “loyal to the Royal”.

Mr Dixon, speaking from NZ this week, backed away from the video threat to Edwards telling the Bulletin: “When I say he’ll have a bad time, I don’t mean we’ll beat this guy up but there is that implied threat.

“I want to make him think exactly what you’re thinking.”

Mr Dixon said all members were schooled on how to legally trespass someone and members were expected to enforce it.

Surfers Paradise Licensed Venues Association president Tim Martin said while he had never heard of BRAWL he understood Mr Dixon’s frustration over the Edwards sentence.

Mr Martin was unclear on whether a trespass order could be enforced but said venue managers could issue official bans for members of the public based on recommendations of security staff.

Mr Dixon said members were privately fundraising to appeal the Edwards sentence.

Gold Coast lawyer Bill Potts said they would not be able to privately mount an appeal but could only lobby the Department of Public Prosecutions or approach the Attorney-General to act.

It had to be done within 28 days of the sentence.
