A Gold Coast grandmother has been left devastated after heartless vandals graffitied her car with offensive slurs in a senseless random attack.

The woman, 60, woke on Tuesday morning to find scratches dug into the paintwork along one side of her car, along with the words ‘c--- muffin’ and ‘pin d--k’ scrawled on the back of the car in permanent marker.

The car had been parked outside a unit in North St unit at Southport when it was targeted in the early hours of the morning.

The woman, who receives a disability payment, is the sole carer for her 13-year-old granddaughter and said she was left unable to drive the car with the “disgusting” words on it.

“(It’s) not a flash car, but it’s all I have,” the woman said.

She had only purchased the car two months ago when she moved to the area and told the Bulletin she couldn’t afford to insure it.

“I don’t know why my car was targeted, there were other cars parked on the street that weren’t touched,” she said.

“I’ll never park on the road again.”

The vandals also tried to pull off the car’s front number plate, leaving it bent and missing screws.

Police confirmed they are investigating the damage.

Locals were quick to rally around the family yesterday, with strangers coming to help buff out the obscene language so she could get back on the road again.

But there was little that could be done about the deep scratches on the bodywork.
