A NEW 24/7 HIIT (high intensity interval training) studio with innovative technology that has taken Gold Coast by storm has opened up its first gym in Cairns.

Darren Wickenden and his partner Danielle Paul have opened up NOFOMO Gym Cairns at Bungalow.

“Everything we do is HIIT training, it is interval training, the workouts change daily,” Mr Wickenden said.

“Everything is accessible via the NOFOMO app, its pretty high-tech. The difference with us is you can perform the day’s workout at anytime.”

“The workout changes at midnight, the timing screens in the studio, they also change at midnight to reflect what is on the app.

“The room is already set up for any day’s workout.”

Mr Wickenden said the studio was staffed from 5am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm Monday to Thursday then Friday 5am to 10am and Saturday 6am to 9pm.

“During staffed hours they are always coached,” he said.

“If people would like to do it on their own they get the option to do it outside of staff hours.”

The warm-up and warm-up stations were performed with TV screen guidance while the other stations are performed with the app.

“We have magnetic mounts at every station,” he said.

“So for every member we give them a magnetic strip for their phone that clicks on the back of the phone.”

Mr Wickenden said the workouts were 28 minutes long with an option for people do an extra round if they’d like.

“It is $34.95 a week and the minimum term is only eight weeks so they are not tied in for too long,” he said.

The new gym is located at the Showgrounds Shopping Centre on Mulgrave Road.
