Homegrown Hollywood A-lister Margot Robbie has been busy savouring the Gold Coast ahead of the AACTA awards on Saturday.
The Barbie star took pictures with staff at Tommy’s Italian restaurant in Currumbin on Thursday at lunchtime, before she was spied shopping in Southport.
On Wednesday she visited the Queensland Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane, where she spent time with several patients.
Childhood Cancer Support Australia shared the moment on social media, captioned: “Yesterday, one of our families had a very special visitor! During one of her hospital treatment visits, Charlie got to meet Margot Robbie. It’s these special moments that help to bring smiles and laughter to our kids during their cancer journey.”
Robbie is in town ahead of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards at HOTA on Saturday.
She will accept the prestigious AACTA Trailblazer Award.
There have been rumours she will make an unscheduled appearance at a special screening of her hit film on Friday night.
The Barbie BBQ Bash – Under the Stars free outdoor screening will take place at 6pm at HOTA’s outdoor stage with prizes on offer for the best Barbie-inspired looks.
Fan Georgia Adamson said she had seen the Barbie movie “quite a few times” but was pumped to catch the free screening for another round.
