Star Wars-theme LEGO creation on display at Dreamworld is made up of 83,442 pieces

It might have taken 83,442 little plastic blocks and a total of 213 hours to build, but the Gold Coast is now home to Australia’s largest Star Wars LEGO model – at least until the end of the year.
After spending 210 hours putting together large sections of the LEGO X-Wing Rebel Alliance Starfighter, Brickman Master Builder Mark Curnow completed the job at the Dreamworld LEGO store yesterday in a three-hour operation joining those sections into a ship Luke Skywalker would be proud to pilot.

He was helped by Stormtroopers who visited the store in celebration of Star Wars Force Friday as well as kids eager to get invovled.

“My favourite part of this job is seeing the looks on the kids as it comes together,” Mr Curnow said.
“It really is a fun job.”

Visitors had the opportunity to make their own lego X-Wings to take home, although these were much, much smaller than the main attraction.
The X-Wing model on display in the Dreamworld store is about two metres by three metres in size.
Just like the starfighter in the Star Wars movie franchise, the LEGO version features four laser cannons and two proton torpedo launchers.
It was initially displayed in Sydney as part of a LEGO event.
