Shopper shares ‘clever’ Kmart price hack on Facebook

The customer revealed a hack that makes shopping instantly easier – and it’s so simple, you’ll wonder why you never did it before.

Must have Kmart buys under $50

It’s a problem all regular Kmart shoppers will be familiar with: Finding an item with no visible price but it’s too heavy or bulky to carry to a price check scanner.

However, one customer has shared their tip on how to find out what something costs when an item is heavy (or you can’t be bothered lugging it around a store, no judgment) – and it’s so simple you’ll wonder why you haven’t thought of it too.

Posting in the KMART HACKS & DECOR Facebook group, one woman shared how she had gone shopping with her mum in Kmart and spotted a table and bench setting they liked.

“No price so I took a photo of the barcode and took my pic over to the scanner to see if it would bring up the price under the price check and it worked!” she wrote.

“Wasn’t sure if anyone else has tried this but (it) saved me trying to find someone who worked there to find out a price, thought I’d share.”

The tip was praised by other shoppers, with some remarking they had “never thought to do that” and it was “so clever”.

“Well I’ve learnt something new already for 2022,” one person said.

“Brilliant! Why haul stuff over if you don’t have to!” another commented.

“I’ve been doing this for years it is a great little hack,” one wrote.

But one shopper said you could also apply the tip to other situations where you needed to save a barcode.

“Take a photo of your barcode on your receipts for expensive items or any really but mainly expensive and when the receipt fades as they do you can take that photo to the shop as a receipt. Just fold the receipt to show item and barcode,” one person wrote.
