Kmart shoppers lose it over luxury $12 items

It’s not something you would often associate with Kmart — and at the budget price of just $12, shoppers are racing to get their hands on it.

When you think of luxurious brands like Dior and Chanel, Kmart isn’t often the first thing that comes to mind.

However, shoppers of the Aussie discount store have spotted various designer coffee table books for as little as $12, at their local stores.

The retailer had a collection available during the November Black Friday sales for $49 — but they were a lot thicker than the current copies on offer.

Kmart is selling designer coffee tables books, starting from just $12.

In a TikTok that has clocked almost 200,000 views, one customer revealed how she managed to nab a Dior and Chanel hardcover for the budget price of $12.

Usually, other versions retail for around $100.

“I got them from Kmart for $12 each,” the Kmart shopper told viewers who were in disbelief.

“I did click and collect but they should be in the book/stationary section,” she added.

One woman shared a TikTok showing off her bargain buys after nabbing the Dior and Channel copies.

The books make for perfect home decor.

The books come in a chic range of colours associated with the each of the fashion houses and inside are hundreds of timeless photos of each brand and how it operates.

The woman, who goes by the name of RhiRhi on TikTok, shared footage of how she displayed her new books on a shelf next to an array of candles.

Kmart was selling $45 version during its Black Friday sales but they were a lot thicker in comparison.

“OMG I have to look for these,” one excited viewer commented.

“No f*****g way,” said another stunned user. “TWELEVE DOLLLLARSSS MY WORD, ”a third person wrote.

Some were disappointed they had already spent upwards of $50 for other versions.

“Damn I paid $30 each at a gift shop,” one woman said.

“I spent $35 on them at a different shop,” added another.

Others who have bought the books, with a Prada copy also available, said they make for perfect birthday and Christmas gifts.

“Yes I bought the Dior one for a friend the other week,” one woman wrote.

“Just ordered mine, thanks to your TikTok,” said another.

The $12 books have already sold out online, so shoppers will need to contact their local physical stores to see if they have any in stock.

However, if you’re willing to spend an extra $12, the retailer has a special edition Coco Chanel book for $24 available online along with an illustrated biography of Christian Dior, also for $24.
