Kmart launches $8 kitchen organiser after viral file hack

Kmart has come up with a cheap solution to help keep kitchens tidy after shoppers had turned to office gadgets to organise drawers.

Mum’s clever Kmart kitchen hack

Kmart is soon to release a handy kitchen gadget after shoppers began converting office items into dish holders.

Savvy customers have been sharing their file hacks all over social media to help organise their kitchen cupboards and utensils.

However, Kmart has announced that a purpose-made expandable kitchen organiser is about to hit shelves, giving customers a sneak peak of the product on its website.

The $8 stainless steel item is designed to keep dishes, lids and trays “neatly organised”, with the metal structure expanding up to 50cm.

It has an overall height of 10cm and is 14cm wide.

The retailer hasn’t disclosed exactly when the item is to hit stores, only saying it’s “coming soon”.

For the past year, home organisers have been sharing their clever Kmart file hacks online – relying on office items to help store lids, containers, pans and even chopping boards.

In a recent TikTok video, one mum clocked almost 10,000 views on her handy drawer tip.

The Aussie mother-of-two showed a drawer full of containers, before revealing how she used white file holders from Kmart to neatly stack everything.

First, she cleaned the drawer, before placing two of the holders inside and stacking the container lids in each slot.

It gave her enough space to then stack the containers on top of one another next to the file holders.

“Thank you so much. I am feeling inspired now and will do this tomorrow,” one keen TikTok user wrote.

“Looks like I am going to Kmart tomorrow, thank you,” another added.

Another mum from Sydney also took to her YouTube channel to reveal her handy hack.

Stephanie Pase, 29, from Sydney showed off her organised kitchen last year.

She used file holders to organise her oven trays, claiming they make the trays much more accessible than stacking.

She said often people just pile them on top of one another which can mean they are hard to get out, but this way makes them much easier to use and store away.

“We all know Tupperware and containers are super hard to store – they’re really bulky and you lose lids and it just gets really messy very quick,” Stephanie Pase, 29 said in the clip.

Similar to the previous mum, she then stacked the bottoms together, based on their shape, before filing the lids using Kmart office holders.
