Paradise Country curator of wildlife Deane Jones said the devils had settled in well to their new home at the park’s Tasmanian Trek habitat in the wildlife walkthrough.
“Mawpaw and Magra (a male) are very devilish and curious and we are looking forward to watching their personalities come to life,” he said.
“The Tasmanian Trek Habitat is our wildlife walkthrough and provides guests an opportunity to experience these misunderstood animals as they forage through their outside terrain as well as in the nocturnal den environment.”
PARADISE COUNTRY WELCOME WORLD’S SMALLEST MONKEYS, MARMOSETS TO GOLD COAST
The furry critters have come from a wildlife reserve in Tasmania.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome the Tasmanian devils to Paradise Country and we can’t wait for our guests to come face-to-face with the largest carnivorous marsupial in the world.”
The arrival of the Tasmanian devils has followed a troop of the world’s smallest monkey, the Marmoset. Tasmanian devils can weigh up to 10kg. They eat meat, fish, snakes, birds and insects.
