Roxy Jacenko reveals staggering amount she spent renovating walk-in-wardrobe

She remained tight-lipped about the cost of renovating her $6.6 million mansion, but Roxy Jacenko has let slip the price of her enviable cupboard.

The extensive home renovations of her $6.6 million Sydney mansion were the focal point of her new reality TV show.

But it was Roxy Jacenko’s seriously next-level walk-in-wardrobe, that featured its own dedicated “glam” room, that really stunned viewers.

Stunning strappy heels line one end of the PR maven’s huge ’robe, while clothes belonging to the 39-year-old and husband Oliver Curtis appear to be organised by colours.

In the adjoining glam room, Roxy’s designer handbag collection is proudly displayed in a special cabinet. The fancy kit-out also includes a hairdresser style basin complete with a comfy leather recliner and a gigantic lighted make-up mirror with huge globes to match.

While Roxy remained tight lipped on I am…Roxy about how much her stylish home renos cost, she’s since let slip how much she splashed out on her two favourite rooms.

“Let’s just say it was expensive but as is anything which is custom made,” she told news.com.au, explaining designer Blainey North considered every little detail, right down the length of her shoes and how many she had.

“But I heard a rumour it was around the $330,000 mark.”

Oli was in charge of organising the home renos, which is probably why Roxy isn’t 100 per cent certain how much it cost, saying the glam room fit out was rumoured to have cost $150k, while the jaw-dropping wardobe makeover was more in the $180k region.

In total, the two features in Roxy’s home took about eight months to perfect, something she puts down to all the extra little details which were flown in from all around the world.

Her epic room is home to her $500,000 handbag collection, which inlcudes one of a kinds from designer brands Chanel and Hermes.

“It’s like artwork for me, it’s a sense of achievement. People buy artwork for walls, I buy handbags,” Roxy says on the show.

But despite proudly putting her arm candy on display, Roxy told us she doesn’t really have a favourite.

“As weird as that sounds, I don’t buy based on what I like, it’s more about what’s most saleable long-term as I look at my collection as an investment,” she said.

“I actually cart around a million tote bags a day if I am honest — which if we are talking that, then my Black Hermes Crocodile Birkin which is one of those pieces that ‘money can’t buy’.”

In this special room, the John Frieda ambassador also has her hair and make-up done regularly, confessing she doesn’t actually wash her own hair.

“Being a ‘natural blonde’ it’s a serious luxury to be home for the four-hour colour process,” she teased, explaining she gets her hair and make-up done professionally in the space three days a week.

“An un-masked Roxy would potentially give you a fright.”

It’s not just the Sweaty Betty creator’s accessories that are enviable, with her clothing collection enough to make you throw your own extensive Kmart castoffs straight in the bin.

“I spend $30,000 a month on clothes, which is a lot, but at the same time, we could be talking a bag, and a couple of jackets and already you’re at that figure,” she said.

“I’m not even sure if that can justify it, but I do make a conscious effort not to buy trend pieces that are overly expensive.

“For instance, Jacquemeus is so hot right now so I tried a hot pink felt blazer the other day only to go, hang on a second, cost per wear here is off the chart and I only wear black so what am I thinking,” she said.

If you are re-thinking of upgrading those cult-Kmart buys (I definitely am right now) the business woman mum-of-two suggests investing in classic pieces.

“I swear by leather pants, Balmain blazers, cashmere knits from Jac & Jack, for winter and its become my staple,” she said.

Of course, no Roxy approved look would be complete without a headband from the Roxy Jacenko Accessories range, which she said is “flying at the moment”.

“People are saying they love them because even with the LBD they feel with the range they completely change their look and freshen it up,” she told news.com.au

However, among her jaw-dropping clothing stash, you’ll find heaps of activewear as on weekends Roxy loves to always be with her kids, Pixie and Hunter.

“Activities involve slime making, Playdoh or nerf gun action so activewear is a must,” she explained.

Of course, anything Roxy does usually comes with a fresh sprinkling of backlash — including her insane wardrobe, but the TV star shrugs her critics off.

“I’m dammed if I do and dammed if I don’t,” she said. “I’m happy just being me, if you don’t like it, I don’t care.”

It’s unclear whether I am... Roxy — which is part of Channel 10’s pilot week — will become a regular fixture on our screens, but here’s hoping.
