Roxy Jacenko praised for brutally honest admission about body struggles
The mum-of-two has taken drastic action after saying she doesn't have “the drive” to workout anymore, with fans applauding her honesty.
Roxy Jacenko has been praised by fans after sharing a brutally honest admission about her “struggles” with her body.
The mum-of-two has recently undergone a fat-reduction procedure on her stomach, telling news.com.au she’d “fallen off the wagon” with food and exercise regime.
“As I hit my 30s, I just don’t have the joy of eating whatever I want and it not ending up on your bum,” she said.
“I don’t have the time or the drive to train as much as I did previously, so with that I am trying other methods.
“If I can work on my eating and train twice a week it will help with moving stubborn areas without starving myself.”
After sharing her personal body struggles on social media, the 38-year-old was inundated with praise from fans, applauding her for being real and relatable.
“Your honesty is refreshing,” one person wrote on Instagram.
“Keeping it real. We love you for that,” another said.
“Love the honesty about extremes in food/exercise,” someone else commented.
Another declared the former The Apprentice star a “champion” for the brave admission.
Roxy also said her body shape “changed completely” after having her two kids, Pixie, 7, and Hunter, 5.
“I think any mother will tell you losing weight after having a baby is challenging — with Pixie I bounced back quickly, but with Hunter I found my shape changed completely,” she explained.
“It took me a good year to lose the additional 20kg I put on.”
The business woman also said the stress of being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and her husband Oliver Curtis spending a year in prison after being convicted of insider trading took its toll on her body.
Now she’s hoping the fat-busting procedure — called LIPOcel — will help ease some of her concerns.
“LIPOcel uses high intensity focused ultrasound to destroy fat cells as well as tighten the skin without damaging skin tissues,” she said.
It penetrates as far as 1.3cm deep under the skin to break down stubborn fat cells.
While it’s too early to reveal Roxy’s results as she still needs two more treatments, she insists it’s pain-free and doesn’t care if people think it’s “lazy girls” answer to fat loss.
Roxy has always been open about her battles with her body, revealing she once plummeted to a dangerously low weight of 49kg during a nervous breakdown.
