Tommy Fury has finally come clean about his sudden split from fiancee Molly-Mae Hague, stating he’s sick of defending himself against endless “cheating” claims.
Fans of the professional British boxer and his influencer girlfriend were left “distraught” when with both parties announced their separation last August.
Since then, the internet has been riddled with speculation surrounding the relationship’s demise, with several women even coming forward claiming to have bedded Fury.
However, the 25-year-old sportsman – who met Hague while appearing on Love Island UK in 2019 – has opened up on a podcast about the real cause of the beloved couple’s split.
“People don’t know the half of it, if it’s not come from my mouth or Molly’s mouth, it’s complete and utter bulls**t,” he told Men’s Health.
“All I’ve been seeing for the past six months is [I’m a] ‘cheater, cheater, cheater, cheater’. ‘Oh he cheated, he slept with me, he slept with this girl, he slept with that girl’.
“It’s complete and utter bollocks, and you can ask Molly herself. The reason why we broke up is because I got addicted to alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore.”
Fury, who had been due to fight Darren Till this weekend before pulling out, explained he’d become dependent on alcohol following a severe hand injury in 2019, admitting it impacted his mental health and relationship
“It kills me to say it, [but] it’s true, I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink, and it is what it is. People go through different things in life and we all have our crosses to bear. I’ve got mine to bear,” he said.
After undergoing reconstructive surgery in early 2024, his battle with booze continued. At the time, social media was awash with photos and videos of him out partying, including the clip that showed the boxer partying with singer Chris Brown that sparked “cheating” rumours.
But Fury said he hit rock bottom recently, resulting in him turning over a new leaf.
“The turnaround point was in December I thought ‘I can’t do this anymore, I cannot do it’,” he told the publication.’
“I was like ‘something needs to change’ or else I’m going to end up in a ditch because that was the way I was going.
“I often said that to my brother most nights and my mates, they all know that.”
Despite being caught in a “cycle”, Fury said he’s determined to move forward and “be a good partner”.
While the pair have not officially reunited, recent reports have claimed the Fury and Hague – who share two-year-old daughter Bambi – are rekindling their relationship.
A video filmed on New Year’s Eve appeared to show them kissing at the stroke of midnight, according to The Sun, which shared exclusive photos of the embrace.
“Things are still delicate but they’ve had some long, difficult conversations over the past few weeks and, finally, are in a great place,” a party attendee told the publication.
“Molly-Mae decided to invite Tommy fairly last minute. It was all very low-key.
“The pair were very flirty all night and it’s clear their physical attraction remains strong.
“They were all over each other as the compère counted down to midnight — it was very cute to see.”
