ALMOST a dozen women are vying for the chance to become Miss Cooly Rocks On at this week’s festival.

The pageant seeks to find “the wholesome Pin Up Girls of yesteryear” among its 10 finalists.

MC and hostess Chrissy Keepence said it was not like what most people might imagine.

“So in everything that I’m doing from my dress to what I’m doing on stage, it’s a real ode to that Spanish culture that I come from.”

Miss Cooly Rocks On will be crowned on Thursday night at Twin Towns.

The winner and runner up will receive a number of prizes including a one-night stay in a QT Oceanview King Room for two, annual passes to Village Roadshow Theme Parks and a $500 Laurina Jean Gift Voucher.
