BMX gold medallist Logan Martin welcomes second bub after ‘wild’ birth

Coast Olympic champion Logan Martin has welcomed a second child with wife Kimberly – and the name they chose is truly out of this world.

Less than six months after taking home the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, a BMX champion has just celebrated another huge achievement.

Gold Coast athlete Logan Martin has welcomed a second child with his wife Kimberly – and the name they chose for bub is truly out of this world.

The king of BMX freestyle took to social media to announce the birth of his second child – a girl named Luna Mae Martin – born on January 11 at 6.14pm.

It was the couple’s first time experiencing a natural birth after their first child, Noah, was a planned caesarean due to being breach.

“This was the first time going through a natural birth and what a wild thing to experience – 12 hours of labour and two hours of pushing until bub came out,” Martin said.

“Kim did such an amazing job and I’m so blown away by the strength and determination she showed to get little Luna out! So proud of you babe.”

Martin’s mind-blowing and flawless display in Tokyo was among the highlights of the Olympic Games making him a household name.

The athlete grew up on the Gold Coast riding at skate parks across the city.

Since then, he has built a strong career including winning world titles, X Games gold medals and world cups in BMX freestyle.

When Covid locked down the world, Martin built his own $70,000 practise arena in his hinterland home’s backyard and said it was all worth it to win the gold at Tokyo this year.
