THE launch party crowd for the Gold Coast’s newest nightclub was more a case of who wasn’t there than who was.
A parade of Instagrammers, reality TV personalities, city power players, media and politicians turned out for the opening of Asylum on Friday.
The Orchid Avenue spot owned now by Hallmark Group used to be the longtime Shooters nightclub.
Guests at the launch party include Gold Coast Ex on the Beach show’s Chrysten Zenoni with Love Island’s Kim Hartnett, Surfers Paradise MP John-Paul Langbroek with Kristen Oxenford, Jakob Gray and wife Stacey Langbroek.

Surfers Paradise Alliance CEO Mike Winlaw attended with colleague Kate Riley.
Hallmark co-owner Sean Heanan said he could not have been happier with the launch weekend of Asylum.
“Our aim was to give the Gold Coast a nightclub experience like nothing seen before in Australia. From the feedback, we clearly delivered.”
