One of the city’s most popular swanky restaurants has decided to delve into another culinary timeslot.

Nineteen at The Star has dished up cleverly crafted cuisine for lunch and dinner since opening and the venue with impressive views of the Gold Coast skyline, even opened recently for breakfast to both in-house guests and locals.

The temperature in the kitchen has been turned up another notch with the announcement of a new Sunday brunch kicking off on 18th October.

“l am from Virginia and Southern Americans take their Sunday brunch very, very seriously. I have crafted a menu that pays homage to my home state in the US, but also using the best local Queensland produce available to create our very own and unique dishes at our Sunday brunch,” said Nineteen at The Star’s Executive Chef Uday Huja.

SOCIAL SPOTLIGHT: GAIA at HOTA

UK artist Luke Jerram is internationally known for his creation GAIA. Home of the Arts secured his installation, the first time it has appeared on the East Coast of Australia. The seven-metre wide detailed replica of the Earth as viewed from space is currently suspended above the outdoor stage at HOTA.

A series of events has been based around his creation and has been so popular that the installation is staying a little longer on the Gold Coast.

You have until 8pm on Wednesday 14th October to experience GAIA. Don’t miss observing this unique installation, just another jewel in the crown for cultural events on the Gold Coast.

HOSPITALITY HALL

Corporate and locals have been crying out for some of our top Gold Coast restaurants to open their venues on Monday and Tuesdays. Due to Jobkeeper and staff shortages, many are only operating five days and nights a week.

The wishes for more venues to open on Monday and Tuesday might be dead in the water already as whispers are circulating about many venues reducing their opening hours even further. The reason is to keep within the threshold of being able to prove the 30% reduction in turnover to still obtain Jobkeeper benefits provided by the Government to keep their staff.

Very cheeky and a practice that could cost these restaurants much more in the long term once the tax office comes knocking!
