Krish Indian in Southport has done it again — named the Gold Coast’s best Indian restaurant for the second year in a row.
Owner Devi Prasad said the win, following a flood of votes from Bulletin readers, was an “honour” and credited their loyal customers.
“Thank you to all our valuable customers that have supported us throughout the past 20 years,” she said.
She said the secret behind the eatery’s cult following was that they loved what they did and served every dish with care.
“We are a family-orientated business … and have enjoyed every day of it,” she said.
“The dishes are freshly prepared and great customer service is our main objective.”
Ms Prasad said it also helped that their menu was packed with authentic flavours from across India and full of unique Fiji-Indian dishes, setting them apart from other restaurants on the Gold Coast.
“Our experienced chefs showcase their culinary talents using fresh local produce and spices from India and Fiji,” she said.
Krish first opened its doors in Worongary in 2005 and has since expanded to Robina, Varsity Lakes and Southport.
The most popular dishes are butter chicken, goat curry, biryani, and prawn and fish malabar – a rich coconut-based dish from India’s coastal regions.
