Young Hiroki, fit with all the necessary kit including a bumbag and a flag, is halfway home when realises he’s forgotten a key ingredient – the curry.

Rather than give up, Hiroki makes a dash back to the store.

“I need to return. I forgot the curry,” he says. Melt.

Despite its recent addition to Netflix’s line-up, the show is far from new – having been on TV in Japan since 1991. But it was recently licensed by the streamer, thus, introducing it to a host of new viewers around the world.

People flocked to social media to declare the show one of the most “wholesome” things they’ve ever watched.

An official synopsis from the series reads: “Children go on errands by themselves for the very first time as a camera crew follows along. They shop, go to markets, visit shrines and talk to shopkeepers.”

In Japan, it’s titled Hajimete no Otsukai – which translated is My First Errand.
