Asked how the Gold Coast had changed since she had last lived here, Power said after the Commonwealth Games and projects like Star’s ongoing development, the city had “blown up”.
When the Bulletin suggested kind of like her, she laughed and said: “Ha yeah!”
She was joined on the guest list by Brisbane-based Queensland Miss Universe Johanna Holzmann, Mayor and Mayoress Tom and Ruth Tate, Village Roadshow theme parks chief operating officer Bikash Randhawa and a super local Gold Coast crowd.

Nineteen partner Billy Cross said the night was predominantly about saying a big thank you to Nineteen’s loyal local customers.
“We have really gone for Gold Coast people, our loyal customers. For our one year birthday we thought we wanted to look after the people who look after us — and that’s what we’re doing.”
Guests were served up platters of kiwami Wagyu beef, Patagonian toothfish, oysters, champagne and vodka.
All dining guests were served up Nineteen at the Star’s first birthday gold bar which looks like a one except it’s made of chocolate and filled with Cointreau, gold flake and a chocolate ganache.
