CALLING all green thumbs — the Gold Coast’s biggest plant sale of the year is on this weekend.

Thousands are expected to turn up to Carrara Markets for the Autumn Plant Spectacular.

The 24 acre venue, which typically fits 350 market stalls, will be turning into a green-lovers paradise and stocking thousands of plants to suit those looking for something to keep indoors, to those who live on acreage.

A visual stylist will be at the event to talk about how to give your home a pop of colour with a plant, alongside growers to answer any questions on potting and planting for this time of the year.

The plants are supplied direct from growers of the Succulent & Bromeliad Society & Orchid Society and are priced cheaper than what you would usually pay at a plant nursery.

The Autumn Plant Spectacular Event Organiser Mia Lee said they are holding the event due to Gold Coaster bucking the trend of filling their homes with live greenery.

“Green and sustainable living is a growing trend,” she said.

“Our event connects experts with the beginner gardener or the bargain hunter with incredible prices for plant.”

Carrara Markets plant sale.

There will be a ‘plant-minding’ service spot to hold your plants while you continue shopping.

The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday between 9am to 2pm and has free entry and parking.

Last year about 5,000 people from as far as Toowoomba, Bribie Island and Brisbane head to the Gold Coast for the event.
