From property portfolios to huge annual earnings, the division of assets will be no easy task for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.
The star-studded couple shocked Hollywood when they announced their separation after just seven months of marriage.
During their famously rocky on-off relationship, the issue of a prenuptial agreement was reportedly a sticking point for Hemsworth.
It is unclear if the pair signed a prenuptial agreement before their low-key wedding last December, which could prove to be minefield for their divorce lawyers.
Here’s what will be at stake when it comes to divorce proceedings, if they did not sign any prenup.

WHAT THEY’VE EARNED
At the age of just 26, Cyrus has an estimated net worth of $200 million.
With her striking beauty, personality and vocal skills, the daughter of country star Billy Ray Cyrus — who is worth $20 million himself — was always destined for a career in show business.
At the age of 11, she won the part of the Hannah Montana in what would turn out to be a blockbuster TV series for the Disney Channel.
The family moved to Los Angeles from their Nashville base as her career skyrocketed.
As the show’s popularity grew, Cyrus was pulling in $15,000 per episode over the show’s five-year life span, or around $450,000 per season.
The success of the series led to a Hannah Montana movie in which Cyrus also starred, and a world concert tour.
USA Today reports that the Hannah Montana world tour earned $54 million, with the concert documentaries grossing $64 million.
But the ‘Miley’ phenomenon didn’t just end there. Like all true (savvy) artists, Cyrus realised she had to diversify.
She’s had hit after hit over the years, and has reportedly earned $25 million in digital single downloads alone.
Party in the USA, one of her most famous hits, has provided her with $7 million all on its own.
Her more edgy post-Hannah Montana albums, including the controversial Robin Thicke-era record Bangerz, along with their tours, reportedly grossed her a cool $62.9 million.
Cyrus has raked in a staggering $13 million per season for her work as a coach on the US version of The Voice.
By contrast, the Melbourne-born Liam Hemsworth is worth $16 million due to his high-profile movie roles. The former Neighbours actor made the leap from Ramsay Street to Hollywood, landing a role in the 2010 romantic drama The Last Song.
It was on the set of the Nicholas Sparks adaptation that Hemsworth met Cyrus, who had made the move into film.
After that, he starred as Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games movies, as well as Empire State and The Expendables 2.
Last seen in the rom-com Isn’t It Romantic with Rebel Wilson, Hemsworth is now taking a new direction with grittier roles.
In the bleak drama Killerman due out this year, he plays a money launderer who wakes up with no memory and millions of dollars in stolen cash.
He also has a lead role in the upcoming crime thriller Arkansas, where he will play the part of a crook who works for a drug kingpin.
The genetically blessed pair have also made a small fortune from advertising campaigns.
Cyrus has fronted high-profile campaigns for designer Marc Jacobs and M.A.C Cosmetics.
And just one day after their break-up, Hemsworth was named the new face of Australian specs giant OPSM.
“Having the chance to collaborate with an iconic homegrown eyewear brand like OPSM was super exciting for me,” he said.
“The campaign is light and fun, and I really enjoyed working with director Patrick Hughes. And coming home to Australia is always a bonus.”
MILEY AND LIAM’S PROPERTIES
Cyrus and Hemsworth famously got married in their lounge room last December in an intimate ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
The location was Cyrus’s $5.8 million farmhouse in her hometown of Franklin, Tennessee.
The rustic, five-bedroom abode is just part of Cyrus’s impressive property portfolio, which includes a horse farm complete with vineyard in the LA suburb of Hidden Hills and a residence in Studio City.
Hemsworth also owns a holiday house on Victoria's Phillip Island, where he sought refuge after an earlier break-up with Cyrus.
Hemsworth lost his Malibu home last year — which was next door to Cyrus’s pad — in the devastating California wildfires.
The singer said she felt “lucky” that both she, Hemsworth and their pets had escaped unharmed.
SHARED CUSTODY OF PETS
In the statement announcing their separation, Cyrus and Hemsworth revealed they would “still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart”.
In their case, it’s a mini zoo. The pair, who are both vegan, shared at least several dogs, two horses, at least three cats and two pigs while they were in Malibu, GQ reported in May.
Cyrus adopted Happy, a Rottweiler-beagle mix with Hemsworth. They have had three pitbulls called Milky, Tani and Mary Jane, a shetland sheepdog called Emu, a dog called Bean who is a Chihuahua mix, another dog called Penny Lane who is named after the 1967 Beatles’ song, and Dora, who is a rescue dog.
They have two sister cats called Keke and LiLo, and a white cat called Shanti Om Bb.
They also had a pig called Pig Pig, who passed away in July.
Prior to their marriage, Cyrus told Howard Stern how her “survival partner” Hemsworth saved their pets from the fire that destroyed their Malibu home.
“He got all the animals out in his truck. He put two pigs in crates, which I tell you is so hard … I said, ‘how did you get them out,’ and he said, ‘the only thing I could do was get a really powerful hose and spray them in the ass,’ so he just chased the pigs into a crate which was genius.”
Cyrus explained that Hemsworth even chased down one of their cats, who had bolted to get away from the other animals in the car, so that no animal would be left behind.
