DJ Carl Cox, who has played at Tomorrowland for the past 20 years, is headed to the Gold Coast at the end of the month to headline a new “Ibiza style” party inside the Supercars track at Macintosh Island.

He tells ATG he will be here for two days solely to work but add it’s easy when he has a love affair with fast cars and loud music.

“I’ll be there for two days maximum. I’ll be flying in from Amsterdam,” he says.

“Being a DJ for me was what was my calling. Apart from just playing there, I have a very avid interest in V8 Supercar racing in Australia.

“Me coming over isn’t just because I want to hang out and just play music, I love the sport as well.”

The Brit who has spent the past 13 years living in Melbourne says it will be his first time seeing Supercars “up close and personal”.

“Usually I’m just watching it on TV. So I’m really looking forward to it. I’m kicking two goals in a sense, I have my two loves, and get to do both of them at the same time on the weekend.”

The 29th Gold Coast 600 runs from October 25 to 27.
