Blues on Broadbeach unveils ‘star-studded’ line-up for 2019 festival
Blues on Broadbeach has revealed a “star-studded” line-up with a range of international and local acts preparing to wow the Gold Coast.

CANADIAN musician Bahamas, The Gipsy Kings and Australian blues royalty Kevin Borich Express will perform at this year’s Blues on Broadbeach.
Cedric Burnside, Eric Bibb and Charley Crockett will also be announced today as among the 70 performers at the May music festival.
Last year, more than 170,000 people packed Broadbeach streets for the festival. Organisers are predicting greater numbers this year.

“It’s the biggest international standing we’ve had at the festival, and we’ve built towards that for the last several years,” festival director Mark Duckworth said.
“The vision has been to bring in blues artists from all over the world … by bringing in acts from other areas it also spreads the message of the festival.

“I come from a musical background here on the Gold Coast so it’s so important to support local acts. This year is about 25 per cent local talent.
“That’s as well as going all the way into the high school program and putting on a special act for high school music students.”
Blues on Broadbeach runs from May 16-19, spread across 20 different indoor and outdoor stages through central Broadbeach and a launch gig at The Star Gold Coast.
