Canned Heat, Eric Bibb and Harts to headline Blues on Broadbeach 2019

A leading 1960s rock band will headline the 2019 Blues on Broadbeach festival. The line-up of next year’s event was released this morning and has plenty of big names.

BLUES on Broadbeach has just released its first official line up for 2019, bringing some big international names to the Gold Coast.

American rockers Canned Heat are set to headline, following a stellar performance at the Byron Bay Bluesfest this year.

Fellow countryman Eric Bibb will also hit the stage for the major free blues festival in the heart of Broadbeach, May 16 to 19.

The first line-up includes six overseas acts as well as 11 Aussie artists, with many more still to be announced.

New Zealand’s Tami Neilson, British performers Z-Star Trinity and Americans Chris Cain and the Eric Steckel Band round out the first international offerings.

Melbourne musician Harts will also represent the homeland, along with The Bamboos, The Lachy Doley Group and Blue Shaddy.

It will be the 18th year for the award-winning festival, which is now one of the biggest music festivals in Australia.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate spruiked the event as a not-to-be-missed weekend.

“What amazes me is the ability for the event to attract the world’s best musicians while still retaining its earthy, raw feel. Even more impressive is that the entire weekend is free,” he said.
