BIGGER and better are the words being used by organisers to describe the up coming TV Week Logie awards - the second ever on the Gold Coast.
Popular voting for the 2019 awards kicked off today at an exclusive Nineteen at the Star launch at Broadbeach.
TV Week editor Thomas Woodgate told the cast of reality, soap stars and media personalities that the Gold Coast was once again “bringing the goods”.
“Last year was an incredible success for us and I mean this when I say we had incredible feedback,” he said.
“It was overwhelmingly positive and the pressure is now on this year to go bigger and better.”

While Mr Woodgate remained tight-lipped on exactly what bigger and better may mean for the Gold Coast he said the city was placed to again wow Australian and international celebrities.
“We are still planning at this stage but there may be an announcement of some big international stars,” he told the Bulletin.
“The Gold Coast knows how to outdo itself, the people here know how to put on a great show.”

Mr Woodgate said while the pressure to back up the success of last year may be on, the number of naysayers had certainly fallen to the wayside.
“On our first year here there was a lot of pressure to deliver, we had to fight for it – people were waiting for us to fail,” he said.
“But last year was amazing and I have had people say it was the best Logies ever.”
Councillor Bob la Castra admitted that as a former actor, he had been swept up in the Logies buzz.
“As far as the Gold Coast goes as a city we have quite a number of blockbusters under our belt, so we are attracting so much more profit here as a serious place to do business, so why shouldn’t we be part of the awards,” Cr La Castra said.
“I think the Gold Coast and the Logies go hand-in-hand - why would you be anywhere else?”
The public now have the opportunity to get online and vote in their chosen Logie award category for their favourite stars.
