Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of superyachts are currently enjoying Gold Coast waters, many of them larger than the average mansion.
While many are privately owned, with the names of the owners closely-guarded, others are available for anyone to board – for a price. Step aboard:
Kaycee
The 35.18m motor yacht Kaycee, formerly known as Charlie Grace, was built in Taiwan by shipyard President and delivered in 2016.
It was listed for sale in 2020, under its previous moniker, at 3.4 million euro, or $5.06m.
The vessel is currently moored at a private mansion on exclusive Sanctuary Cove street The Circle. Property records show the five-bedroom mansion was bought for $10m by Charles Vella in 2020.
Kaycee can sleep 10 guests and four staff in its five cabins, which include two masters, the principal of which features a walk-in robe and bathroom with a full-size bath.
The other master is on the upper level, with its own deck acting as a luxury private retreat.
There’s also a VIP suite, one double and one twin cabin, and entertaining is easy from the large open salon which has a functional cocktail bar opening out onto the expansive aft deck.
Access to all three levels is available via a glass lift.
Huntress
This ultra-luxe 33m Feadship vessel can be yours to charter for around $90,000 a week, plus tax.
today, you’ll find Huntress cruising the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef, The Kimberleys and South-East Queensland, but in its former life it was a well-known Carribbean cruiser.
Built in 1984 and re-fit in 2004 and 2008, Huntress can accommodate six guests and five crew, and features a master stateroom with a queen sized bed, his-and-hers bathroom and spa pool.
During the days, guests can make use of two tenders, two waverunners, three surf skis, water skis, wakeboard, kneeboard, boogie board, snorkelling gear, extensive fishing and scuba gear, bicycles and more.

LV Three features wide, walk-around decks; “dog-friendly” design and a vast teak hi-lo swim platform with beach umbrellas for extra lounging space.
LV Three has three ensuited guest cabins, bar and sundeck.
Mistress
Mistress, a 46m Benetti yacht is currently parked at Boatworks Coomera where it last year broke the record for the heaviest boat lifted from the water on the Gold Coast.
The boat sold in 2021 with a last known listing price of 3.9 million euros, or around $6m.
Built in 1991 and formerly named Kaleido Beau, Mistress has had multiple refits since.
It has space for as many as 11 guests in six suites, along with a crew of nine.
Australia
Clive Palmer’s $40m toy is docked at Marina Mirage, easily dwarfing its neighbours with its 56m length.
Designed by coveted boat building company Benetti, Australia can accommodate up to 12 guests and 13 crew members.
The yacht includes two sundecks, an outdoor and indoor bar, a jacuzzi, a VIP suite with bridge deck views, and an owner’s suite complete with an office, walk-in wardrobe, and private bathroom.
SuRi
SuRi is owned by billionaire New York investment firm founder Ric Kayne.
Billed as “The World’s Most Adventurous Yacht Charter”, a holiday on this 63.4m behemoth would set you back around $470,000 a week.
As one of very few purpose-built luxury charter yachts in the world, SuRi was last month moored in the Coomera River near Gold Coast City Marina.
On Wednesday morning it left Coomera and moored in the Broadwater north of Wavebreak Island. It left last week and is now stopped at Brisbane.
It had been listed for sale in 2020 for $58m, but was later reduced to $31.2m. It’s unclear whether it is still on the market.
Passengers of the SuRi, perhaps after touching down on the helipad, can enjoy underwater scooter rides, scuba diving, hover boarding and fly boarding, water skiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, tubing, kite surfing, kayaking and more.
There’s a seaplane and speedboat on board, while passengers can also play on the 11m inflatable water slide, inflatable rock climbing wall, or inflatable swimming pool.
On chill days, there’s the yoga and massage room, glass-bottom media room, gym and cigar lounge.
SuRi usually tours Tahiti, Fiji, French Polynesia and other South-East Asian destinations.
More
Among the dazzling vessels on the Coast is 44.2m superyacht More, currently docked at Marina Mirage.
Another coveted Benetti build, More had been used as a charterboat commanding fees of $167,500 a week.
It’s on the Gold Coast after being procured from Italy for an unnamed Australian buyer.
More had been listed for sale at 6.5 million euros – roughly $9.47m – however the exact sale price is undisclosed.
The sale was brokered by Geoff Lovett International, whose team also handled the complex process required for changing ownership of the ship and transferring such a large sum of cash.
“The owner has bought and sold boats with us before and decided it was time for his next one,” said GLI’s Lauren Ervin.
“Being an international company, we have access to many vessels overseas, so we sifted through what was out there and were able to find one that was right for him.”
More came from Italy via Singapore, Darwin and Newcastle.
The yacht has accommodation for 10 guests in five ensuited cabins with cherry wood panelling throughout, and features a dining room with formal seating for 12 guests, entertainment and dining area with a bar, a lounge and comfortable seating in front of a large plasma screen television.
Up on the sundeck, there is a large spa pool, sunbeds, and another dining area with a fridge, ice maker and a barbecue offering al fresco dining for 12 guests.
Encore
The luxury 44m sailboat Encore, currently moored at Southport Yacht Club, was listed for sale with an asking price of $29.9m in 2019.
Despite the listing, it’s understood Encore is still owned by millionaire Star Track Express founder Greg Poche, who had it built in 2013.
Its features include gallery-hung artworks and a dramatic skylight in a the “gentleman’s club-style” main saloon and dining area.
Encore accommodates 10 guests in four cabins: a full-beam master suite, two double guest cabins and a guest twin with two additional berths.
It was one of the last yachts to leave the New Zealand shipyard at Alloy Yachts and was refitted in 2018 improving its AV, entertainment, and communications systems.
Mr Poche, 71, who sold Star Track to Qantas and Australia Post for $750m, is one of Australia’s biggest philanthropists, having given away more than $74m to organisations such as the Melanoma Institute Australia.

It was previously named Vegas and was owned by Melbourne property developer and NBL owner Larry Kestelman.

Built in 2008 by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo, it is available for charter for up to 10 guests in five cabins, plus six crew.
