BILLIONAIRE Clive Palmer’s $40m ‘toy’ has been spotted in the Broadwater.
The plaything in question is his luxury superyacht, which was parked dockside at Marina Mirage on Saturday.
And while we’d all like to “sail away” like Enya’s smash hit, some of us don’t have the bank balance.
Last month, Palmer’s floating palatial digs raised some eyebrows when parked in Melbourne’s Docklands, causing a stir over who the yacht belonged to.
It was the second time in a month the businessman and politician had made waves over his keen interest in luxury vehicles.
Earlier in March, he denied purchasing a vintage car that belonged to Adolf Hitler from an unnamed Russian billionaire.
The fallout resulted in Palmer taking to social media to threaten legal action, deeming it “outrageous fake news.”
He purchased the yacht in December 2020 for an eye-watering price tag of $40m.
The Italian-made superyacht is now not-so Italian, with Palmer blatantly renaming the vessel ‘Australia’.
It was previously known as Bash and Ulysses and can accommodate up to 12 guests and 13 crew members.
The larger than life yacht boasts an owner’s private suite, observation lounge, and a kingsize bed. The “VIP suite” features windows overlooking the bridge, and two double staterooms and two twin staterooms are positioned on the lower deck.
There is a sky lounge, a 12 seat jacuzzi, wet bar, pizza oven and outdoor cinema. The beach club lower deck offers easy access to the water with storage for several jet skis, a water slide, and even a floating swimming pool.
