Bikies in Australia: A short history

A REBELS member visiting Sydney for a secret outlaw motorcycle gang soiree has boasted about the club’s presence in the city over the weekend, as armed police hunted down more than 20 bikies from Western and South Australia in separate raids in Western Sydney.

By early Saturday evening, police had evicted the interstate bikies from their accommodation across Parramatta and Liverpool, but other OMCG members were not done with their time in Sydney.

Bradley Daniele, a senior member of the South Australian Rebels, took to Instagram to share details of the club’s “bender” which saw members of the club “just being bikies”.

The 25-year-old, who sports a distinctive tattoo of the word ‘Rebels’ above his right eyebrow, first announced members from the South Australian chapter were in Sydney by posting a short video that showed him riding in a vehicle with a number of men.

“Look out Adelaide crewwww in town,” he wrote in a caption overlaying the video, which also tagged Sydney as the location.

Daniele shared a video announcing the Rebels “Adelaide crew” was in Sydney.

A subsequent post made upon his return to Adelaide, showed a “trashed” Daniele wearing a thick gold necklace and Rebels MC branded jumper boasting about his weekend in Sydney and Kings Cross arrest for drunken disorderly behaviour.

“Yeah the boys. Yeah the boys. Yew, missed my f***ing flight. Who gives a f***,” he can be heard saying in the short video.

Daniele offers more details of his escapades in the caption: “Well I’m back from Sydney, and this sums up how my trip went #trashed #bigjigs #bigbendersnopretenders oh and I was arrested in Kings Cross for drunkenly disorder so thanks for f***ing me night #missedflighthome #brothers_for_life #rebelsmc #justbeingbikies.”

NSW Police confirmed two members of the South Australian Rebels club were arrested in the early hours of Monday morning following reports the intoxicated and aggressive men were intimidating staff and customers at a fast food restaurant on Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross.

“Both men approached police as they entered the store, and yelled offensive comments. After multiple attempts to direct the men from the store, the 25-year-old man was arrested, and as the officers attempted to remove him, he allegedly resisted and used offensive language,” a NSW police spokesman told The Daily Telegraph.

“The other man, aged 30, was given a move-on direction, to which he failed to comply and was also arrested.”
