A young man has been charged for dangerous driving after his ute allegedly hit a cyclist in Sydney’s southeast on Saturday.

A man, 21, has been charged after allegedly hitting a cyclist in Sydney’s southeast on Saturday.
NSW police have laid charges against a 21-year-old man after his white Ford ute allegedly collided with a cyclist on Southern Cross Drive in Eastlakes about 2.40am.
The 57-year-old male cyclist was treated by paramedics and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, and the driver was taken to hospital before being escorted to Mascot Police Station.
He has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and had his licence suspended.
He was granted bail and is expected to appear in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on Monday.
