The wife of a high-profile Sydney lawyer is set to fight allegations she was caught in possession of meth in the city’s eastern suburbs.

Ingrid Galloway, who is married to lawyer-to-the-stars Brett Galloway, was arrested by police

around 10.45pm on Sunday, February 4, after she was allegedly found with methamphetamine on a Darlinghurst street.

The 36-year-old was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and first faced court in March, where she indicated she would fight the allegations.

Mrs Galloway is set to defend the allegations at an upcoming hearing in the Downing Centre on November 7.

In 2018, Mr Galloway was charged with drug driving, after police alleged he returned a positive reading for meth during a roadside drug test.

The charge was dismissed, however, after a magistrate found the saliva test used at a police station was possibly contaminated because officers did not follow proper procedure.

Earlier this year, the couple were forced to fight moves to have them evicted from Mr Galloway’s multimillion-dollar Watsons Bay home for unpaid debts.

The NSW Sheriff’s Office was due to take over the palatial Watsons Bay property in July after Mr Galloway was served with an eviction notice by the NSW Supreme Court on May 17.

But moments before authorities entered the property, the Sheriff’s office was informed that Mr Galloway had successfully applied to stay the eviction proceedings in an eleventh hour move.

The couple sold the home in August for $4.8 million.

Mr Galloway’s high-profile former clients include disgraced property developer Salim Mehajer and Ibrahim brothers Michael, Sam and Fadi.
