Two men charged after alleged and attempted carjackings in Bossley Park

Two teenagers will face court after an alleged carjacking in Sydney’s west last month.

The boys, aged 17 and 18, were arrested and charged by Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives following an investigation into reports of the alleged offences.

About 11pm on December 6, a 20-year-old woman was driving on Prairie Vale Rd in Bossley Park when she came to a stop at the Cowpasture Rd intersection.

It is alleged a man then approached the driver’s side door and attempted to open it, without success. He ran off as the woman drove away.

About 15 minutes later, a Mazda 3 sedan pulled up at the same intersection when two men approached his driver’s side door.

Police will allege the men demanded the 29-year-old male driver exit the vehicle and – when he refused – one of the men making the demands opened the passenger’s side door and threatened the driver with a firearm.

The 29-year-old exited the car before the two men jumped in the vehicle and drove away. The driver then flagged down another car and contacted police.

Local officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced initial inquiries before detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took charge of the investigation under Strike Force Karrabah.

Following inquiries, strike force investigators arrested an 18-year-old man during a vehicle stop at George St in South Windsor about 1pm on Wednesday and took him to Windsor Police Station.

Investigators later executed three search warrants simultaneously at homes in Bossley Park, Edensor Park and Doonside with assistance from the South West Metropolitan Operations Support Group.

Officers located and seized a vehicle along with electronic devices – all of which will undergo forensic examination.
